Dash in the Blue Pacific

Dash is not having a good time. First, he lost his job. Then, his fiancée cheated on him. Then, flying solo on their planned honeymoon to Australia, the plane goes down and Dash is the only survivor. And that's when things start to go bad.

When island natives find his battered body, they blame Dash for poisoning their fish with spilled jet fuel. So, they're waiting for him to recover before offering him as a sacrifice to their Volcano God. Dash abandons all hope of rescue—but his new life has its moments. He meets ten-year-old Tiki, daughter of the chief and an innocent who dreams of being "chosen" by the soldiers who occasionally visit their island. And he invents an imaginary half-fish/half-god friend he can talk to. Not that he's crazy—he's just on the way there.

But as time passes, Dash comes to understand his captors and even confront his own unhappy past. He suspects that he might not be so unlucky after all, in this surprisingly thoughtful comic adventure written by "a grand comedian" (Necessary Fiction).
