本书所录原文以《凌濛初鉴定西厢记》暖红室刻本为底本，注释据张燕瑾校注本《西厢记》而有所删改，每折之末，附简要点评。(The original text of this book is based on the carving copy of Nuanhongshi of Ling Mengchu Identifying The Story of the Western Wing and the explanatory notes have been revised in accordance with the annotated version of The Story of the Western Wing by Zhang Yanjin and brief comments are attached at the end of each booklet.)
